A few light showers and some patchy fog may develop across the northeast late tonight through mid-morning tomorrow. Low clouds are likely across the east while western and central areas remain mostly clear through the night. Low temperatures will be near to slightly above seasonal averages.
Storms that develop in far eastern NM tomorrow afternoon will be capable of producing large hail and gusty winds. However, confidence is low and it is most likely that storms won't develop on this side of the TX border.
An extended pattern for potential large fire growth is expected to start on Sunday and last through at least midweeki. Strong winds will combine with very low relative humidity to create critical to extreme fire weather conditions in much northern and central NM. Rapid fire spread is likely with any fire starts. Do your part to prevent wildfires and create #OneLessSpark.
Storms are expected across eastern NM on Saturday afternoon, a few of which may become severe in the southeast plains. Storms with small wetting footprints and gusty winds are possible in the northern mountains as well. Storm coverage increases overnight, with a low potential for flash flooding across the southeast.
